Cosmetic, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery/Tear Trough Filler

Treatment to restore lost volume under the eye and reduce dark circles

The tear trough is the area between your lower eyelid and cheek. During the ageing process, volume is lost which can cause dark circles to appear and a hollowness below the eyes.

The tear trough filler treatment is a non-surgical treatment (also known as under-eye filler or dermal filler) and is a very popular cosmetic procedure to restore the lost volume whilst reducing dark circles. Fine lines and wrinkles will also appear reduced, creating a fresher, less tired looking eyes with younger-looking, more radiant skin.

If you have more severe under-eye bags, a blepharoplasty may be more suitable.

Tear trough fillers use a form of hyaluronic acid, a gel-like substance which is injected into specific areas around the eyes, which works to replace the lost volume brought about through the ageing process.

The tear trough treatment can also be used in conjunction with other filler treatments to add volume to other areas including the lips, brows, cheeks, marionette lines and nasolabial folds. Filler can also be combined with a BoNT Treatment to reduce lines and wrinkles which has been proven to be a highly effective combination with patients.

Tear trough filler is a cosmetic anti-ageing treatment, and ideally suited for those seeking to improve the appearance of their eyes.

After a consultation with one of our specialists, the area will be cleaned and local anaesthetic is applied before a gel-like substance will be injected into specific areas around the eye.

There is no specific age to have a tear trough treatment although you may begin to notice the development of tear trough hollows in your late 20s. The tear trough treatment may not right for those who have more severe under-eye bags and they may consider a blepharoplasty to achieve the desired appearance.
