Scar Management/Dermapen

Dermapen treatment can improve skin imperfections, wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring and stretch marks

Dermapen is a brand name for a piece of equipment used to perform micro-needling treatments. The dermapen is a handheld device of which has adjustable needle lengths, this allows the consultant to reduce the depth in more sensitive areas (e.g. around the eyes). The dermapen as scar treatment aims to promote collagen production within the skin to improve skin imperfections, wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring and stretch marks.

Yes, the device we use is medical grade with the treatments being performed by GMC specialist registered consultants.

The effects of a dermapen are not considered permanent as factors such as the skins natural aging process plays a role in lasting results. Clinicians recommend a maintenance program which could include quarterly procedures to keep skin looking it’s best.

Microneedling can be done every 4-6 weeks. Initially, most patients start with 4-6 treatments to achieve the greatest clinical effectiveness. In an anti-aging regimen, most of our patients repeat microneedling every 3-4 months.
