General surgeon specialising in skin lesions

Dr Rebecca Lewis was raised and educated in and around London. She studied medicine at the esteemed King’s College London, graduating in 2005. During this time, she also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in anatomy (first class honours), with a career as a surgeon in mind. She then spent over ten years training as a general surgeon in various prestigious hospitals all over London, including The Royal Marsden NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

After developing an interest in the physical and emotional effects of breast reconstruction on patients, Dr Lewis completed subspeciality training in breast cancer surgery. During this time she completed electives in surgery at prominent institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and NYU in New York.

Dr Lewis qualified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 2019, and is on the specialist register for general surgery with the General Medical Council (GMC). She was appointed as a consultant surgeon in London in 2021.

Throughout her career, Dr Lewis has continually kept her general surgical skills including minor surgery up to date with participation at numerous specialist courses. She has presented her work at multiple national and international conferences, and has published various papers in respected international journals (a list of her publications is available on request).

As part of her practice in advanced breast cancer surgery, Dr Lewis developed a keen eye for detail and excellent cosmetic outcomes. Throughout her career, Dr Lewis has continued to perform skin and other minor surgery with a strong focus on minimal scarring. She is experienced in dealing with wounds, including those of breast surgery, and can provide an expert opinion on any wound complications or healing issues post-operatively. Dr Lewis also continues to practice as an NHS doctor, giving back to the system and patients she owes her training to.
