Dr Shute first trained as a physician and after passing the MRCP moved into psychiatry to become a liaison psychiatrist.
Dr Shute became interested in the psychological aspects of dentistry after working with the facial pain team at the Eastman Dental Hospital. Dr Shute has been working with the Orthognathic Team at the Eastman since 2003. He also works for three days a week as Liaison Psychiatrist at the North Middlesex University Hospital, London.
