Dr Harris qualified in 1981 from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London. He trained initially in general internal medicine, obtaining his MRCP before pursuing his interest in dermatology. His dermatology training started in 1987 at the Westminster and St Stephens Hospital, London before spending three years in the academic department of dermatology in Edinburgh, Scotland. He returned to work at Royal Free Hospital before moving to the cutaneous surgery centre, University of Minnesota, USA in 1992, where he was the cutaneous surgery fellow. It was here that he gained complete training in laser surgery, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery and cosmetic dermatology.
In 1993 he was appointed consultant dermatologist at the Whittington NHS trust, London and started a Mohs surgery and laser service based out of the Wellington hospital.
In 2002 he opened the London Clinic of Dermatology and developed London’s first cutaneous surgery centre equipped with two operating theatres to deliver specialist Mohs surgical and laser care.
Dr Harris is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and member of the British Association of Dermatologists. He is a member of the European Society of Micrographic Surgeons.
He has been practising at 152 Harley Street since 2012.
